The lack of an umbrella insurance product for performance boaters creates a very large exposure for those individuals with performance boats. As an insurance agent and broker, this is simply put, an issue. Our job as insurance agents and brokers is to provide our clientele with protection solutions. That said, many of you have expressed a need and/or desire to get your performance boats covered under an umbrella product.

After nearly a year of searching we have found a solution!!!! WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO! (Can you tell I'm excited about this?!?!?)

While I believe that this carrier needs to "expand" their guidelines to include more of the performance community, I think that we are off to a great and positive start!

First and Foremost: Who is this product NOT for?

• CAT HULL BOATS
• FLORIDA BASED CLIENTS

I know I know.... BOOOOOO!

But, Here is an overview of the product and who is eligible:

• A RATED - ADMITTED CARRIER
• SOMEONE WHO PAYS MORE THAN $5,000 PER YEAR ON THEIR COMBINED INSURANCE COSTS (AUTO, HOME, TOYS ETC.)
• V-HULL PERFORMANCE BOATS FOR SPEEDS UP TO 120MPH
• DESIRES UP TO $100,000,000 UMBRELLA LIMITS
• Simplicity of one insurance bill for all insurance policies.

If this is something that is of interest to you, give me a call to discuss. Obviously, this product isn't for everyone but it is a step in the right direction to getting more performance boaters the option to have more coverage and to close that liability exposure gap that owning a performance boat causes some people to have.
