Insured through NBOA on an American Bankers/Reliable Policy?
If you are currently insured by NBOA on an American Bankers/American Reliable Insurance policy (for performance boat insurance) you will likely be receiving a notice of non-renewal sometime in the near future if you haven't already. This agency (NBOA) has ended their contract with American Bankers/Reliable to write business (why? I have no idea and won't comment on that).
If you are one of these people that has already received a notice or are finding out by my post that you will be receiving a notice soon, you have options and Wake Zone can help you.
1. It is my understanding that NBOA will be offering you a rate from another carrier. I think this carrier is Markel but don't hold me to this. You are NOT obligated to take this offer. This is now a fantastic time to allow another broker to shop the market for you.
2. If you want to keep your current American Reliable policy and are happy with the premium and the coverage levels, call us. We can keep you with American Reliable and just re-write your policy with our agency.
3. Lastly, call Wake Zone so that we can shop your insurance with the available performance boat insurance carriers in the market. We will shop the following for you when you call us:
• American Reliable/American Bankers
• National Union Fire
• American Modern
• Foremost (for boats under 75mph)
Give us a call today and we'll help you through the transition if you are looking to make a change in carriers or want to keep your coverage with American Reliable/American Bankers.
I can be reached by calling: 866-728-9757 ext 101

Clarification To Initial Posting
Looks like there needs to be some clarification made on my original post here. Seems like some people are misinterpreting my post.
For clarification, NBOA IS NOT GOING OUT OF BUSINESS. They are still very much in business and writing insurance policies and serving their clients.
Nowhere in my original post do I state that they have gone out of business. I simply stated that for one reason or another (I don't know why) NBOA is no longer doing business (as a broker) for American Reliable/American Bankers (insurance carrier) for writing high performance boats (I didn't say slow yachts).
The fact of the matter is, those current NBOA agency clients that have this carrier through NBOA will likely receive a notice of non-renewal as well as an offer for a replacement policy with another one of their contracted carriers (I've heard the offers will be mainly through Markel). I do not know for sure as I'm sure NBOA writes for several other carriers. That was not the point of my post.
The point was simply that if you have this carrier through this agent and want to stay with your carrier for the same premium, you can and have the right to do so.
Hopefully this clears up any confusion.
