OR
You fill out a boating resume that you sign and it becomes part of your application. That means that in the event of a claim, the carrier has the right to verify what you signed off on and said was true and factual. IF you lied then it is called misrepresentation and the claim is denied. In the event of a claim, the burden of proof lies on the insured. If you can't prove that you owned a boat, then you didn't own it.

How's this, owned boats all my life, 50+ yrs, last 3 have been 38 fountains and donzi all 100+ mph, never a claim, bought a 38 cat this summer and the ins. co. wanted me to take a cat driving course to the tune of $2500. Anybody heard of this. Needless to say I told them to kiss my ass after being insured with them for over 10 years.
