Issues insuring 38 Top Gun

Have you tried Foremost? Depending on power / speed they may be a good option. I'm also in Ohio, and have had an old cig, and 2 Formulas insured without any problems in my mid 20's.

I have looked with Geico, they would cover a 38 special but not the top gun. All my other assets are insured through state farm, only issue is their HP value will only allow for 999 hp. So stock powered boat would be ok but they wouldned touch one i quoted with blowers making 750 a side. An early 90's TG with 454's they were quoting me around 1,100 a year full coverage.
Storing at my personal residence in a garage helped tremendously vs leaving it on a lift in the marina.

Foremost is who I use. Great rates too. I just go off stock power figure if I have a problem engines are prolly the least of my concern at the point.

I've had Progressive for several years now. Betting if you submit an online quote from them you'll qualify.
