Doug's Jag's damage
Photos from Big Cat Run
"edited quote" from Doug:
"A 36 Skater launched off my port stern trying to avoid me after an accident that I had slowed for during the Big Cat run yesterday. ....... I was proud of the Jag to take a hit like that and have all my crew safe and unhurt. ........ There are more pics at hotboat.net of the event: west forum. Look for big cat. ..... My Jag is done for the season.
Doug"
Doug!!!!
I'm happy to hear that you and yours are OK.
The Jags are tough and that's a good reason to have one.
Please keep us posted.
Thanks
John

Re: Doug's Jag's damage
The run was in California (Discovery Bay area). I wasn't there but Doug (mutual Jaguar owner) was.....probably much to his chagrin at this stage.

Re: Doug's Jag's damage
Glad you ok. Believe me when I say you are lucky. The boat and fiberglass can be fixed. I was involved in a boat accident 19 years ago when a nother boat and mine had a head on colision with a 120 mph impact and I took a prop right in my back. My boat damage looked very similar to your with the prop marks on it, but unfortunately my back has those same marks and they never heal

Re: Doug's Jag's damage
Glad to hear you guys are ok. Hope the damage isnt too bad.
I know from our old 46 Jag and the 50 Jag we have now, Jack builds a hell of a boat and with some of the things that have happened to us we were greatful that he made them to withstand a pounding.

Re: Doug's Jag's damage
I dropped the Jag off to start repairs. I was told that it would be returned to me as good as new and I believe that the shops chosen will do a great job. I may have a few weeks of boating left before my season ends on Oct. 15th. The Jag really came through the accident well. They really are a well made boat. Powerboat was filming the event and has footage but we may have to wait a while due to legal issues and investigations. Hotboat also had a copter in the air and I know for sure video does exist. Forums in both Hotboat and OSO have been pointing fingers and I am sure that no one involved expected to start the run with accidents. The sherriffs dept. is busy sorting the whole mess out and I hope that poker runs events are not affected. It really is a special day to see that much hardware in one spot. The boats are truely spectacular and that's really what the run is all about. The injuries that were sustained are real but it could have been horrific. The boats will be fixed or replaced and accidents will hopefully be forgotten and changes will be made so this can't happen again. The injured boaters hopefully will have a speedy recovery, they are more important than metal and fiberglass. Doug

Doug-
Well said!!
Let us know how the Jag's coming......
man...... Jack builds them STRONG!!
I'll give up speed any day for that kind of durability.
