Jag race V in classifieds, what's the story?
http://www.offshoreonlyclassifieds.c...o21109-en.html
Just curious because it's close to me. We don't see too many old race boats laying around in SoCal. Not like SoFla!
What boat was it? Power? Drives? Why stripped?
Thanks!

Thanks man! Interesting looking boat. So probably ran #6s then with big power if Callan had it huh? Any guess how it made it out here?

Lloyd-
Haven't seen the actual boat, but looked at the mold for it when I inspected the 40'. The 50' seemed huge! I know that Michael Peters designed the hull and it was designed for 4 engines, but turbines would probably be best & make good use of the Arnesons (Coco Cola boat has them). The cockpit is the same size as the 40'; the windshield and roll cage were also the same. Jack told me the boat was built strong (heavy): same as most of his boats. He might still own the mold.
If you have time, lets share lunch.
John

John,
Sure I have time, when do you want to go to lunch ?
The thought of the 50' would be a fairly involved project. However, there is more to be done before making a serious decision.
I did speak with Jack, He not only has the molds, but another hull and deck. Jack recalls the Coca Cola boat weighing between 16 and 18,000#,with fuel. Pretty heavy, but might fit into the scheme. Do I have you curious enough to want to go to the Miami Boat Show...We could have lunch there!!

I'll call you or you call tomorrow and we can talk. When are you leaving? The 14th is Jo and my Anniversary; if I miss that I might as well marry the boat!

The V bottom was a stepped "POP" of a 41' APACHE. It was a "CIGAR" powerboat. The guy built and rigged it it Flipped one of the oly times it ran.........it has set since then....
