How far is Antelope from Riverside anyway?
I'm with Doug: I hate sanding, but have more to grind inside of area under the deck and in front of the cockpit. It's really bad to work in those enclosed areas.
Do either of you have ballast tanks in the nose? Mine has the tanks, but I've never used them.

There are no tanks in mine. I'm located outside of Sacramento, about 400 miles from the L.A. area. Close enough for Bob and myself to get together for a poker run. We have the Big Cat Delta run I believe in August if he isn't ready for desert Storm. I am still a bad sander. Doug

Sanding sucks ass. Grindin on fiberglass does as well. I have alot more time than I do money, so Im a sandin mo fo!! Transom is done and buffed. I cant believe how shinny it is! I have about 1 hours with of sanding then Ill buff the entire bottom. Should have everything done tomorrow. Looks like Ill have it back on the trailer wednesday. I have to glass in the fuel tanks and a bulk head. More gelcoat in the bilge, dash, and deck then its time to rig this bad boy! After all the gel ive done so far, i figure about a week to complete the rest of that. I m figuring 2 weeks to rig. Based on those estimates desert storm may actually be a reality! Ill take some pics once im done buffing. I have no ballast tank in my boat.

I don't know how many were made, I believe most were race boats and ex race boats are like ex wifes. The original owners no longer care about them and they are big and expensive to keep around. Jack would know, give him a call and tell him you are saving one of his creations. He can tell you the history of your boat, he remembers them all. Doug

I called that guy 3-4 different times, left messages and he never retuned any of my calls. Boat is scheduled to go back on the trailer tomorrow. I derigged about 1/2 the eliminator today and monday the Jag is going to the shop to get the holes cut for the drives. As of right now its looking very realistic that I can make Desert Storm.
