Uncle Daves New 2750 at the Boat Show...

Had a good time at the boat show today.

The Lavey crew had my boat front and center at the show.

Ray Lee, Chris, and Jeff, looked like they were having a good time.

The 39 looked awesome and there was a suprising amount of traffic.

The X power drive guy was really cool ,and says the drive will be 35K and his boat was one of the most epic rides I have ever seen. He claims he has 70 of the sitting in a wear house now and that at this stage each one cost 85K to build.

Good times.

2009 Nordic Heat - 600sci - Whipple Stage X - SCX drive
Wow,

nice looking boat.

I did not realize that while it is aproximately the same length as my Nordic Heat... it is a much smaller boat.

I found this also when I went and looked at a 28 Howard.

Love the blue gel-coat work.

Thanks-

Its 28.8ft with an 8ft beam.

The howards really fast but a much shallower V more of a lake boat thats ocean capable.

Is there a heat at the show?

Thanks,

Uncle Dave

I saw them at the show-and walked around a bit, I was trying to find out EXACTLY what the core material use in the wood free line is and I wanted to know what materials were put where and how they bonded the materials.

The had display that showed the different materials they used and it was kind of neat, but there wasnt a manufacturers names to be seen in the group.

I spoke to 2 guys about this while inquiring about the layups, weather they were bagged or infused, and neither guy could answer my question, but asked me to come back after lunch. I figured Id shoot over there agin during the week as they were busy and Id rather have them sell a boat than waste time answering questions.

The SC and the Teague platinum sure are close as you say (although slightly different ) I think you are probably right on in that they sure seem to use bascially the same kit of parts and it was interesting to walk from one booth to the other and hear the spiels.

Teague booth was opposite Laveys & Bob Teague was with the press, but I arranged a propeller optimization session with the teague team.

You get Bob himself tuning the boat & a half a day and backed up with a Teague truck filled with new props at lake Castaic here in So ca for 150.00! I'll get a chance to talk to Bob then.

Sounds like an EXTREMELY good deal to dial in a boat.

Probably the best $150.00 you could spend

Yeah no kidding - Im amazed I can get the guys time that cheap that said he knows Im going to be buying props and he gets to ride in yet another boat.

Im still curious to try a 6 blade 24 although everyone tells me stay away I think wt the Ilmors high rpm bias It might be really somewhat safe.

BTW I alway liked Nordics line of boats- I had an advantage once and should have bought a Nordic at that time.

Heats billed as a 28 and mine as a 2750 in an equal world the heat would be a bit bigger (I think if we lived in the east those mfgr would say they are basically 29' or 30's ) I took another look and I cant see where is the heat "much" larger as there are no measurements I can find-

Im guessing interior headroom? The actual measurements are of my rig are-

28.6
8.6 beam and
49 " cockpit depth.

As you see my boat on the stand the guys looking into it are on a platform thats about 3.5 feet high.

Ill take a look at the Heat at the show (it must be tucked in the back and shoot some picts.
