Default Quents "Monster" 2750

Stopped by the shop yesterday to drop off my 20.8 to get the engine pulled for a refresh and look at what was there.

A beeeuttifull.... Dustin Whipple 1000HP Big block.

And a brand new 2750 bottom gelcoated in the mold....

I hear its getting an SCX, but Ill let the guy cutting the checks take over the thread from here.

Congratulations- we're all envious my friend!

Default 2750

Thanks for the pictures, Dave. This project is going to back up my retirement 2 years, but its worth it. Jeff and Chris are laying up the boat now with carbon fiber/kevlar. According to Chris, its a new experience. The stuff takes special shears to cut it.

This will be a midcuddy bowrider, SCX upper, 2" SC shortie lower. I'm not going to get too exotic on the interior and stereo. I will come out to Corona when the hull and deck are together to pick out some accessories and colors.

My hope is to have a 105mph+ boat that I can keep for a while. The "newboatevery2years is over". I pray. I will keep you posted. Best regards, Quent

Yes. The motor is a reworked Teague 800. As far as I know for sure,Dustin used the crank, rods, and block from the 800. The cam, pistons, valves, springs are new. He did some port work on the Brodix heads and used his cam grind. There are several new billet brackets, big tube exhaust and other stuff. I haven't got a build sheet from him yet.

Dustin built this for Mike Pyle and Mike had to go anothe direction so I bought the engine. I'll get more details and post later. Quent

This boat is coming out sweeeeeet!!! The carbon/Kevlar looks really good and is going to save quite a bit of weight. The bottom laminate is close to being finished and the deck isn't to far behind.
I'll try and post some pics up if you would like me to Quent.....?
