Twenty-four, it was a hard decision but they'll be off this weekend.

Less is more? (I hope)

Gio, 03106 before 86 means it's hull no 31?

Fantastic Giocariello your Magnum 53 is a blast. May be one of the most beautiful I have ever seen

Yes 53 is one of the most nice sea worthy Magnums ever made, but I think 63 is a bit better in heavy seas. I saw a 63 a couple of years ago going in 8 footers and cruising like 28 knots. Honestly it looked like flat water.
All hulls of the 56, 60, and 63 are actually the 53 with slight modifications

Anyways the hulls of the period Magnums are all great thanks to Jim Wynn or should we say Walt Walters....

This is not correct concerning the hull evolutions. The 53 was stretched to the 56 to easier accommodate v-12 engines. The mold was then lengthened again to 60' for the v-16 mtu's in hull number 1. A deck was cut midship, stretched, then redesigned and a mold pulled off it which included the new dash. The 63 was a completely separate hull and was later stretched to 70. It is signifiacantly wider and with more freeboard. The new dash was added later. The 80 is again a different hull and has no predecessor shorter length. The 40 became the 44. The 45 grew to the 50 then became the 51. All The larger hulls have the same ratio of hull radius at the transom. Most growths were to accomodate motors and outdrives. Newer changes have just been styling. The new 70 design is beautiful. If you go to the plant you can look at some of the molds and actually see how they were modified. Also, there is an 80' hull in the shop right now and the scale of these things is staggering.
