Looking to convert original teleflex internal steering,having a problem . to possible external steering any suggestions

Whats the problem? What drives are you running? What system are you using? The only place you normally encounter an issue is with the wing plates on the drives, but that is easy to overcome.

I have a 74 Maltese with external steering and Volvo drives. If you need pictures let me know.

I recently completed this on my Magnum 27 Sport. I have Volvo 280 drives and use one PS pump, a Capilano helm and made a plate to retain my original Teleflex helm cover . . twin external rams.. the largest challenge will be building or locating brackets to fit the top of the Volvo drives.

Note that the Volvo drives have one hollow bolt to feed oil to the top bearing, it is the forward right side bolt. This bolt should not be replaced with a solid bolt to secure the PS bracket.
