Default 270T needs Viagra

Love my 270 T's for 40 years of fabulous service! Hate my 270T's for rebuilding them umpteen times only to have them go up and the 3 weeks later (maybe a little longer than that) drop right back down when I hit the throttles. Just did it again and I am looking for more permanent remedy. Any thoughts or ideas (and please no suggestions on replacement ! LOL). Even thought of running them up to a certain point and creating a Pin type system or bracket to hold them there (like 270). I almost always run them trimmed up to a degree, I have Tabs to get out of the hole, and they still go up under low speed for beach purposes. Work great at the dock, lousy under acceleration or speed.

Any help appreciated.

Jeff

I had a similar issue with my 280T yrs back on my 18 2+3. Instaled a new Merc trim pump assembly and problem solved. Must have been the old Volvo valve body going away. -Marc @ BAM has great prices on complete trim pumps

Jeff I have the same problem with my son's X-18 Donzi with the 270t drive, but I think his issue is with the Volvo pump too. I have a Merc pump that I'm going to retro fit into the trim system & see if that's a improvement . I will be doing this over the winter but I wont have it done till spring. My Mag Sport came with the Roger Munn trim set up that I removed, I did not like the looks of it but it did work. With my drives raised up 3" I run my drives on the second pin & the ride is perfect. I tried it on the third pin but there wasn't any speed difference & was slower to get on plane. I dont see a need for trim with my set up. I would use the factory tilt for shallow waters but with the drives X raised there not much drive in the water & the tilt motor wont fit under the hatch. Mark
