Unfortunately these "Wilmas" have city councilmen, who know the mayor, who calls TWRA.........you get the picture.
I love the sound of a well tuned big block, but there are a lot of people who don't. With all the lakeside homes and subdivisions on OH, we could be looking at an eventual noise crackdown.
I'm somewhat surprised we've gotten away with it as long as we have..........
Regards,
Steve

You make a good point Steve. I think that we get a slide on the noise, because for the most part it is intermittent. The most important thing we as a group can do to protect the sport is to continue being responsible and watch out for the "family guy" in the runabout who has no clue what the rules of the water way are. I think that MCPA's work with the VFW also gives us some positive exposure as a contributor the the community.
The biggest fear folks on the council have is a serious accident or a rash of BUIs associated with the fast boats. The media would latch on to that which would really put the public pressure on local councils to "do something". If it came down to it, I would rather deal with mufflers any day than be faced with an overzealous TWRA or arbitrary speed limits as as happened in other areas.
