Wolf Creek Dam, Lake Cumberland

I'm in Lexington on business at my regular hotel, and notice there is a "KDSA" convention going on. I ask the guys attending what KDSA is (sounds like/could be a drag boat association, could be Kentucky Dope Smokers Association?).
It's the Kentucky Dam Safety Assn. So I have to ask them wtf is up with Wolf Creek Dam and Lake Cumberland. It seems to me it's been down for YEARS..........
They say 2 more years of low water before the dam repairs are finished. So, in Spring 2012, we can finally go back to 76 Falls. I guess the contractor is being paid by the hour.
I ask about Center Hill. A lady with KDSA says, "well that's TN, and we're KY, so I can't give you that information, check out the Nashville Corps of Eng. website." But, I get the impression the "grouting of the karst topography at Center Hill Dam" will take another 2 years also.
FYI,
Steve

I think Harmon Creek is better then the falls. Its location is better for everyone to get there. The creek is bigger and easier to access.

And, it will be twice as wide and longer when the lake returns to normal pool

For what they are doing, project is moving fast, the first phase which was the grouting finished ahead of schedule. The second phase which is constructing a concrete wall 6 or 8 feet thick all along the earthen part of the dam is a big deal. It is going some 100 ft below the bottom of the lake. That should plug it up for a while.
