2010 MCPA Fun Run FAQ's/ Info

MCPA Fun Run Frequently Asked Questions:

What time zone is Nashville in?
Central Standard Time

Where is the nearest hotel, are there any discounts?

We have a block of rooms available at the Hyatt Place located at 330 East Main Street, Hendersonville, TN 37075. Call and mention you are with the MCPA to receive the discounted rate. 615-826-4301.

Where can I launch my boat?

Black Jack Cove has a nice launch ramp. An alternative ramp on the Hendersonville side of the lake is Rockland Recreation Area next to Anchor High Marina. Address to the Rockland ramp is: 5 Power Plant Rd Hendersonville, TN 37075

Where can I fuel up on the water?
Black Jack Cove has regular and 93 premium octane for those who need it.

What about trailer and/or boat storage?

Black Jack Cove has plenty of parking on site where you will be allowed to keep your boat and/or trailer. Providing slips are available, there will be a fee for keeping your boat in the water overnight. If you feel more comfortable keeping your boat with you at your hotel, check with hotel personnel first. They normally are fine with it unless your taking up half the parking lot.

Where will the Friday Lunch be?
A lunch run down the Cumberland river will take place on Friday, meeting up and leaving the dam at 11am. We will lock thru, make the run down the river, tie up at riverfront park and walk up to Joe’s Crab Shack to eat. If you prefer to drive by car, the address there is: Joe’s Crab Shack 123 2nd Avenue South, Nashville TN.

Where will the Fun Run stops be?
Stops for the run will be addressed during captain meetings on 7pm Friday night and 10:15am Saturday morning (Captains MUST attend a captain’s meeting). You will receive a captain’s packet at the meeting with all information including a map with GPS coordinates for all the stops.

Where is dinner Saturday Night?
The Hendersonville VFW Post 9851, 73 New Shackle Island Road Hendersonville, TN 37075-2321. Doors and bar open at 6pm, Dinner served at 7pm.

Will there be photos and video footage of the run?
Yes. Still shot pictures and HD video footage will be taken during the run. We will have a helicopter this year which always makes for good video. The video will be edited and put on DVD. Photos will be up on our website.

Check out the MCPA Fun Run info page (Click Here) for more info and link to the 2010 registration form with cost, payment info, etc.

Where is everyone staying?

We have reservations at both Hyatt Place's in Nashville (opryland and Hndrsnvlle)

Trying to see where the consensus is staying and we will cancel the other one!
