on board a MTI cat at the Oshkosh Poker Run
2008 Lake Winnebago Oshkosh Thunder. Ride along on a 39 MTI at over 100 mph in rough water.

The video does not look fast but most of it was over 100. It was much rougher than it looks. I was working the throttles hard that day. Notice the shadow of the chopper over head. I could actually hear his blades through the canopy and my headsets. Extreme Boats magazine was shooting photos for a big spread on the Poker Run.

Awsome video!
Without the headsets is there less noise in the enclosed
cockpit compared to open cockpit?

Canopy boats are very loud. Engine / blower whine and the hull noise echoes around. Open cockpit MTI's are much quieter. When I remove the back half of the canopy it is much better. Headsets are nice and quiet and able to talk to everyone on board.

way to tough
i was there in my 28 daytona i was proprd to run some where around 120mph. it was so rough i had to idle for about 10 miles!! we ran it up to a tad over 100mph in the bay. thats the only place a boat of my size could have any chance to run with the conditions it was still allot of fun but i guess that is boating. either way people where great. the donzi team was great. Still water marine helped us out with a drive problem for no cost! its a poker run if you haven't done you should go in 09. oshkosh is one of the best runs you can run id say second is liquid jungle aug 9th
