Its not my boat I just saw this gross display of horse power this weekend and thought all should see.The rummer is they were six hundred and something cubic inch moters with, some new 8.0liter whipple supercharger. built by GT Performance making 1600hp. now like I said it is a rummer I heard from some guy who heard it from some guy so who knows what it actualy is. It would be nice to know for sure though.

On another website they claimed the engines were over 1700 hp drag engines. I suspect that is true. Very fast for any brand of boat. A 33' Daytona is not the safest hull for that speed. I have a friend who converted from a 140 mph 33' Daytona to a 36 Skater. Day and night comparison. The Daytona can get scary at high speed.

Hey Brad there were some probs with the pre 2000 hulls but they were ironed out from what my info sources have said. That being said, anything over a buck fifty in an open cockpit is spooky.

Even for the drag engines, it is quite an accomplishment period to get up to that kind of speed in a "sprint" shootout such as Desert Storm or similar with Loto, as you had the pleasure of running a few times as well didn't you Brad??? After many years as a spectator at LOTO, it amazed me at how well you guys could dial them in to reach those numbers and then change the set-ups to accomplish the marathon of a long distance poker run!!!! Great job guys!!!!!

Heres a couple videos of the boat before the run just chilling out....I figured it had resonably big power...but its much quieter than some of the other big power boats out there.
