But then wouldn't that be a trasmission? Not trying to be a smartasss, but you would have to have a way to stop the rotation of the input shaft in order for the gears to mesh. On the boxes that I have now it is basically a in-out box, it's all gears, no clutches. I have thought about putting trannys in, but the reliability of the boxes outways the convenience of trannys for me right now.
Everyone have a great weekend
Loading up and heading to Hartwell.

MedMan-Not bustin your chops myself sir. But I did re-read that article this weekend and Sage does build a shiftable Zero drag Marine Crashbox. Now it stated that the shifting is control by two electric switches......maybe the best of both worlds so to speak.
Hope everyone had a Great Weekend

Cool . Where did you find the article? That would be alot easier to shift than having to bump the starters to change gears.
Hartwell was fun . It was a little cool though. The sun came out after lunch and warmed up nicely.
Hoping to be out this weekend on Lanier if the weather holds. I have the boats at Aqualand on ZJ dock which is around behind the lighthouse, I think the 4th dock "in" from the lighthouse. Come by and say hi.
See ya'll on the water.
