Was that to appease a certian gas dock that was complaining? I really thought the bridge made a great starting place.

From what I heard, they thought hitting top speed that close to the cliff where the radar gear is was a tad dangerous, as well as getting 100' off some of the docks near the course. Maybe someone can verify that.

I liked the starting point as well, VB. I think another plus I heard to the new set-up is that they'll shut down closer to Captain Ron's cove where they can idle right over to.

There's also word of lining the boats up on the strip on Wednesday night before the Shootout.

No, it was the condominium docks that the racers were getting close to. Racers and condo owners made this a decision we had to make. Running this way should make the bouys easier to see as well. We have actually slid the whole course downlake to make the shutdown before the bridge a managable task. I talked to Kent yesterday, we should have the course map up in the next week, two at the most.

That should put the start line right at the entrance to the Niagua arm shouldn't it?

Is the water any shallower for the spectator fleet? Holding an anchor in 100 feet of water is a constant battle!

I wonder if That "Cat Killer" will be there?
Joe Lamberti's boat . . .

I don't care what anyone says, that boat is just ridiculous to watch , couldn't imagine piloting that animal !

I met Joe the other day by his shop,
He is a true gentleman in every sense of the word and wish him the best .

There are very few truely nice people left in this world.
Joe is one of them.

God Bless,
Y/F Anthony
P.S. my son thanks you for the Picture

No, I am sure you will be in the same depth or close to it. I am trying to come up with corner boats for smaller craft to tie up to.
