Default Kentucky - Cumberland

Coming from Mich. We have 4-5 boats that want to come down. looking at the end of July.
Where is a good place to stay on the water with slips/beaching/camping average cost?
What do we need to watch out for?
Is there premium fuel on the water?
What is the law like / loudness?

This is where i stay at. I really like it here. Its about a mile from Alligator 2 marina. Last year a rented a RV spot for around $18 per night and pitched a tent. They have shower houses that are very clean. Also it doesnt cost anything to put in at Alligator 2.
I heard fuel is around $1 more at the marinas. Dont hold me to that because i never have had to fill up at them. Right across the street from Pine Crest is a gas station that i use.

If you like to be where the party is at then you need to go to Harmon Creek. Especially on the 4th of July, there will be a ton of people their.

Let me know if you decide to stay at Pine crest. I just bought an RV and will keeping it there.

No, the lake is about 40' below where it use to be. They are saying 2012 is when it should be ready to go back up to normal water level.

Is that low level because of drought or what?

The dam was leaking. They had to lower the lake level to relieve pressure off the dam so it would not fail. Work is ongoing.....

Personally, I think the lake is nicer at the current level. All the debris is way up the banks. Even with the drawdown, it's still a LOT of water.
