Because I was under one edge of the pier, there were lots of race fans close by and a nonstop stream of people walking right behind me. I was constantly checking to see what I could see.
Caught her coming toward me and had time to turn the camera (it's on tripod) and click off two frames.
Because it was a race, I had the long lens on. Generally speaking, I like to get the entire subject in the frame. You can see her legs are cut off-- that was as far back as I could go and she was walking towards me. clickclick
What you don't see is the photog behind her left shoulder carrying a tripod. They were heading for a beach shoot- her makeup is perfect, new bikini, etc.
