I have more of the sequence, mostly of the lift prior to going airborn.
This is the last one in the air, as the boat disappeared behind the trees from my vantage point.
The most riveting thing about this one is the spectators, and you can see it in the large version.
In all the hundreds of Shootout frames I've shot over the years where the spectator fleet is visible,
people are doing all the things that people do on boats.
Talking, laughing, drinking, swimming... looking/facing everywhere, in all directions.
Maybe 15% are actually watching the run.
The spectacle has now been unfolding for several seconds and every eye in the frame is glued to the boat...
it's downright spooky- people standing with arms by their sides in disbelief, women with their hands to their faces... just crazy.
The emotion in the scene gets me.

In lake grills shots you can see it starting to come out of the boat when the hatches blow off when the front of the boat hits the water the first time , you can see it falling in the next three or four frames
