The Dana kits have the capability to possibly build a little more torque & Hp due to thier runner & collector design.

The Stainless Marine systems will still flow better than the stock Merc set up.. The Stainless system should still make a good difference in how that engine breathes... The Merc stock exhaust runners & primaries are so tiny it isn't funny.. The SM stuff has always performed well & can still suppport big power & future upgrades.. I & my customers have always been happy with thier products.. Jamie / Lakeside

is there a big price difference in the two.

Based on our current prices that we sell those kits for there can be a difference of about $100.-400. per kit (more than the Dana).. Depending on the version of 496 you have.. Jamie / Lakeside
