is the 496 and 454 mark IV exhaust interchangeable?

Theoretically yes, they share the same bolt pattern and should bolt right up. They although are different motors and the heads on one motor may sit higher than the other thus making your riser exit in a different location. I cannot say they will fit your exact application, I suppose if you had a lot of hose running to the transom you could fudge a couple inches, are they stock locations on the exhaust tips?
