The high performance Mayfair by Hardin Marine Hydraulic Steering System is recommended for most sport boat applications. Generally speaking, it is recommended to use external power steering on boats which run in excess of 70 MPH, however there are some boats that run 60 MPH that would benefit from the use of external power steering. The new Mayfair by Hardin Marine steering systems use a 316 stainless steel rear cap that is highly polished and is supplied with all stainless fittings, thru-hulls, bolts, and pre-made hydraulic braided stainless lines.
