See, GK? Only takes once to cost big bucks PLUS how secure will the impound lot be? Too much risk not to get the permits.

I have a blanket permit for Virginia. Can tow anywhere in the state as much as needed. $100/year. Only restrictions are after dark and Sundays. I don't get the Sunday restriction for non-commercial vehicles....but it is what it is. So far, Five-0 has left me alone

Thanks guys for your input, I decided to be legal and buy all the permits for each state. See you in Florida.

The cop made him drive it to the Police Station a couple miles down the road and was going to confiscate the boat until he could pull permit and pay his fine...

If you've got the money to buy a big cat you should certainly have the money to make it legal to tow.

I've used Mercury Permits when I have hauled my boat and they are very easy to work with... Didn't know that Boat US had a deal with them, might have to check it out next time we head out on the road...

Once you use them they have all of your info and making subsequent trips is a snap and no hassles... I always figure the cost is minimal in case you get stopped or have a problem. No need to give the insurance company to deny a claim for not filing for them...
