New Nordic Heat Owner
Hello Nordic Heads,
I wonder if anyone can help me ,I just down sized from a 34 scarab to the 28 Heat,What I want to do is put a aluminum swin platform on the back(easier to walk across on poker runs when tied up)but i cannot find a compnay to do it .
Has anyone done this yet or does anyone know of anyone who has do this.It does not seem like brain surgery to me ,but the only company that said they would attempt this said it would be a one off and cost approx 4000k to 5000k
GIVE ME A FRIGGIN BRAKE.I mean Monster garage can build
anything, there has to be a frabricator out there some where
who can do this with in reason.
Thanks

Benzman:
Welcome to the Nordic board and world. The obvious reason that nobody (to my knowledge) makes a bolt on swim platform for these boats is that they already have one as part of the hull and deck mold. Most of the units I see are for traditional flat transom hulls like Cigs, Baja Outlaws, etc.
If you are adding one to your existing setup, I'm sure it will be expensive as it will have to fabbed to your/our hulls, and there is no market for mass producing them.
It seems like there are 2 views on this. Most of my friends, regardless of the hull brand, like the steamlined looks and practicality of the factory molded swim platforms.
There are also traditionalists who prefer flat transoms and hard deck lines. I'm sure this is why companies like Baja make both hull/deck types. In this latter case bolt on swim platforms make sense.
If you are dead set on this, you might want to investigate having one fabbed out of fiberglass or starboard. It would be easier to blend into the existing deck shape. I have seen this done on ski boats and cruisers with existing swin platforms, where the designer or owner needed more platform space.
You might also ask Lonnie at the factory if he knows anyone who has done this.
Good luck and let us know how it turns out.
Regards,
Steve
