Re: 28 Heat speed with stock power?
WOWCHAD,
I estimate a Heat with a HP500EFI would run 72/74ish, with bullchit blocker (GPS) .
Variables include weather (air temp), load, elevation, water conditions.
Regards,
Steve

Guys, thank you for all your feedback.
Initially they seemed a little slow but when you figure how big a boat that is and the weight involved here, it does seems to be a very efficient bottom.
Figure I'm in a 3300# 21' Baja with 330HP doing the same 62-65mph speed.
I do think I'll keep my eyes open for one with the Blue motor though, I'd sure like to see 70 if not 80mph. Either way we have decided to stick with a single engine boat and this seems to be as big as you can practically go with a single.
The other boats we're looking into are the Kachina 30' a Formula Fas Tech and the Howard 28' Bullet. Seems price and quality are all over the board within these though...

The difference may be that here you get hard data, not BS, or hype. The Heat is a great boat. I love mine.
I think you're on the right track. These boats will run, but it takes some horsepower to run in the 70s (500+) and of course, even more to run in the 80s (650+). If you get a 500/525/575, you will be pleased, and have a good foundation
for future modifications. There are good mods available now for the 496 too.
The guys here on the Nordic forum are very knowldegeable when it comes to setting Heats up, and we are happy to share our information with other Nordic owners. Read any of the threads and you'll see what I mean.
Good luck with your search. There are several nice Heats for sale now OSO classifieds.
Regards,
Steve
