Got the boat back today...dlr said a bunch of Mercruiser's got out of the factory with a couple wires in the harness...switched them and bingo...haven't river tested it yet...goin camping this weekend...hope it is fixed!! thanks for all your input...i'll keep you updated! Greg

Yup....had one here.

About 300 motors were affected.
Mercury changed the 10 pin harness to a 14 pin harness and the Mercury designers reversed two wires in the new design. This fault has also caused the ECM to go bad about an hour or so after the wire fix is done. SO......keep your fingers crossed. Mercury had to send us a new ECM and a few other sensors that got boned up as a chain reaction to the wire harness screw up.

You can call Mercruiser and have them run your Motor Serial number.

They will tell you if it was one of the recalled motors or not.

That might give you some insight on what will be in your future.

Got Back Last Night...everything Went Perfect...no Problems At All...put Almost 13 Hours On Her And No Problems....must Not Have Been On Of The Affected Motors...thanks!
