Default Pulled the trigger on a 2008 Heat

Just got home from Oregon Custom Marine, where I pulled the trigger on a wood-free, open-bow, 2008 Heat, with a 525 EFI. Both Kevin and Tim, have been extremely helpful and professional in helping me with my boat buying experience. I am stoked!!

I opted for the 525 package being that I am definately a performance oriented kind of guy.

Are the 525's still having problems with header issues? I am worried about some of the horror stories I have heard about leaking headers toasting motors.

Any guesses on top end speed?

My guess... about 78

Any info would be appreciated.

Chris

I ordered one out of the factory in Havasu. They didn't have an 08 open bow on the floor at OCM. Really like the idea of a all-composite boat. I am worried about my choice of power, as I have read some disturbing stories about the exhaust on the 525 EFI's .

Dont be. Lots of new 525's out there. New ones should be just fine. Enjoy!

Congratulations! You'll love the boat.

Keep in mind there are many 525s in service with just a handful having problems. You should not have any issues with a new 525.

My 28 heat with 525 has 165 hours of trouble free performance. Lots of luck with your new ride.

Thinking about really pushing the budget and getting a
600sci

Any thoughts?

Chris

How fast do you want or can you afford to go.

If your thinking 600, you'll never be happy with the 525.
If you can afford it, buy it.

I'm a little suprised that nobody chimed in on the speed thing.......

My guess is ( depending on conditions of course) 73-76...

I've heard of much better but have never seen it with power in that range.
