ran the new precision 5 blade
I managed to get hold of a set of the new 5 blades by Precision Propellers. Same guys as the old "Turbo" props.
Totally different than the Hydro or Maximus. Radical looking blades, with a long straight hub.
Out of the box, the 30" X 15.5" ran 88 @ 5300 on my boat. Handling was excellent in all respects. Obviously too much pitch and diameter for my application. Lots of potential though. Very efficient midrange, 4000 was 65mph. At the current diameter, with my spacer out, or reduced to 15"s dia. spacer in, thinned, sharpened, pitch matched and balanced, I think it would be very close. Like around 5600/5650ish @ ??
Another test on the PP 5s on a 35' Fountain slowed the boat considerably from his 30" P4-Xs.
A stock Hydro 29" X 15" P-5X recently ran 90.3 @ 5600 for comparison on my boat.
Another friend will try the PP 5s on a twin set up.
Better than the Maximus, not as good as a P5-X, IMHO.
Regards,
Steve

I always understood that you took the peak torque of a engine and proped it for 1000 more RPM for overall best results. Being your setup, I think you are on target for 5600-5800 RPM. Those blowers have that flat torque curve. Best of Luck, Party 1 for me this weekend with Gary & your crew, Wish I was there.
