I decided to keep my heat which is paid for.... seem like alot of my customers are UNemployed at the moment... so with that in mind, how fast does a heat go with about 600 HP? Anybody have a number?

My boat is a Merc 600, open bow, wood free boat.
Closed bow boats should be a couple of mph faster.
Wood free boats are a couple of mph faster than your vintage.
So here you go... You should be able to get near these speeds with a 600-635hp wood cored, closed bow Heat.

Hey Brad,
Probably a good call this year. Things will probably get better next year, which will hopefully make all our boats more valuable on trade or sale, making it easier to move up.
Re 600HP, my boat is a 2001 closed bow Heat too. With the AZSM boost kit on my 575 (which they say nets 50HP, maybe) my boat ran 80/81 with 30" B1. I think a 1" spacer would have helped, but I didn't get around to that until later.
What are you planning (obviously more HP ).
Regards,
Steve
