East Coast Nordic Regatta Dates
The dates are: Friday, May 29th, Saturday, May 30th, and Sunday May 31st. This is the weekend after Memorial Day. These will be the dates with Regatta activities, but you are certainly welcome to come earlier in the week, and/or stay over .
There is plenty of water, and bars to cover in middle Tennessee and Nashville .
We are working on some fun stuff for you guys and gals. Early plans are for a Friday meet and greet on Old Hickory Lake, continuing with an evening reception at our favorite dock, Anchor High.
Saturday, we will probably do a downtown cruise on the Cumberland River so you can party it up in the 2nd Avenue, Lower Broadway tourist district.
We'll warn the bars in advance to stock up .
We will return late afternoon and lock back through Old Hickory dam for dinner at Anchor High.
Sunday we can cruise up the lake for brunch at Gallatin Marina. We'll have to mix up some Bloody Mary's for this cruise. Gallatin Marina has terrific food. We can hit our notorious "two foot" party cove on the way back.
These are just some early plans and subject to change, but we know you will have a great time here in Nashville.
We have done everything we can to pick dates that don't conflict with holiday weekends, poker runs or other events, or dates some of you say are bad for your schedules.
Please let us know if you plan to attend and how many crew members you are bringing. We need to secure dock space at Anchor High, and downtown. We need to know how much food to have prepared. We will be working on hotel discounts too.
The Nashvegas Nordic Navy extends a welcome to all Nordic Navy Members, and we are looking forward to showing everyone a great time !
Best Regards,
Steve

Hi John,
Glad to hear you'll be making the Regatta. We're having a meeting Friday night. More details to follow. I can tell you this. Since most events will be taking place out of our favorite marina, Anchor High #13, which is in Hendersonville (Northeast side of Old Hickory), we will try to get rooms at a hotel/motel as close to Anchor High as possible. There is a Corp of Engineers Park #1, directly across the cove from Anchor High with a nice ramp and parking.
We will also be try get dock space at Anchor High, so you guys can leave your boats in the water. Dock space is at a premium (ie, tight) there, particularly on summer weekends, but we will figure something out.
Best Regards,
Steve

Hello Nordic Navy,
Our Regatta organizing meeting went well last night.
We are working on food, hotels, Regatta t-shirts, and dock space for everyone.
We're going to have a blast here , and we hope a bunch of you all can join us.
Again dates are May 29/30/31. That is the weekend after Memorial Day. Average temps for Nashville are 81os, record temp is 95os, but hopefully it won't be that warm.
Let us know if you plan on coming so we can get a boat and crew count for the hotel, food, and docks.
More information to follow ASAP.
Best Regards,
Steve

Thanks Steve & Jeff (honorary team captains) for pinning down the dates. Unlimited Marine and Nordic Boats will be sponsoring this years event. We are especially excited at the opportunity to bring this years Nordic Regatta to Nashville, home base of the proud and mighty "Nashville Nordic Navy".
Team Unlimited will be there in force...

It's 400' long, and we can raft off too if needed.
Here's a Nordic cruising downtown. Do you recognize it ?
Regards,
Steve
