Driving Directions to East Coast Nordic Regatta

Hi Guys,
For those of you who haven't been to Nashville or Hendersonville in the past, I recommend you hit mapquest and print a hard copy of the area to make finding the hotel and marina easier. Here's the link www.mapquest.com . Old Hickory Lake and Hendersonville are on the Northeast side of the Nashville Metro area.
Quick directions if you are coming in from:
I-40 East Knoxville-follow I-40 westbound toward Nashville. When you pass the airport, merge towards the right hand lanes. Exit north onto Briley Pkwy exit #215 towards Opry Land. Follow Briley Parkway north past Opry Land. Watch for signs directing you to I-65 North/Louisville. Turn/stay right onto I-65N. Exit off I-65N right/east onto Vietnam Veterans Blvd/Hwy 386. Exit VVB at exit #8 right onto Saundersville Rd.
Take a left at the 1st red light onto Gallatin Rd. The Holiday Inn Express is on your left, approximately 3/4 of a mile.
I-40 West Memphis-follow I-40 eastbound into downtown Nashville. Watch for signs that say I-65 North/Louisville. Merge onto I-65 North, and follow the rest of the directions above.
I-24 West Clarksville-take I-24 eastbound to Briley Parkway, exit 18B. Take Briley Parkway eastbound. Watch for signs directing you to I-65 North/Louisville. Merge onto I-65 North and follow the directions above.
I-24 East Chattanooga-Take I-24 westbound into downtown Nashville. Watch for signs directing you to I-65 North/Louisville. Merge onto I-65 North and follow the directions above.
I-65 South Birmingham-take I-65 North through downtown Nashville and follow through to I-65 North/Louisville. Exit onto VVB and follow the directions above.
I-65 North Bowling Green-follow I-65 southbound. Exit at exit #97 Goodlettsville, TN. Turn left/east onto Long Hollow Pike.
Stay in the right lane, and turn right at the first intersection onto Conference Drive. Take Conference Drive south approximately 2 miles. As you near Vietnam Veterans Blvd, merge into the left lane. You will exit left/east off Conference Drive onto VVB to Hendersonville. Exit at exit #8 and follow the directions above.
The hotel can give you local directions to Anchor High and Rockland Recreation area. On the map below #1 is Rockland Recreation Area (boat launch), #13 is Anchor High (main event marina), #15 is Blackjack Cove (extra water dockage), #19 is Gallatin Marina (Sunday Brunch), #5 Bluegrass Yacht Club (no events, but close to Holiday Inn Express for your reference).

Hello everyone,
Well now I know how people who live in Seattle feel. We've had nothing but storms and rain (again today) for the entire month of May.
However, the weekend forecast looks great. Partly cloudy/80o Friday, sunny and 86o Saturday and Sunday. I don't want to crow about it too much, it may jinx us...........
The lakes are back to normal pool. I will check on the river tomorrow.

Hi Guys,
I drove over the Cumberland River today and was pleasantly surprised. There is some current, but I didn't see any floating trash. This was from Madison. Further downstream (Opryland, downtown), I don't know. I do think we will be OK for the downtown cruise on Saturday

Hey Steve, I just mapquest the trip over from Knoxville and it is taking me up 109 then over on I-174/386. Since we aren't towing a boat, would that be faster? Let me know.

It might. Depends on the traffic. I was trying to keep everyone towing on the interstate systems.
The traffic can back up on 2 lane #109, and the bridge over the upper end of Old Hickory is narrow, but it's fine if you aren't towing, and you'll see some pretty countryside on the way.
A little bit of mid TN trivia......right before you go over the lake on the right is a farm called "Starstruck Farm". It was owned by Reba Macintyre. She's a big horse woman. I heard she sold the place to Steve McNair when he was the Titans QB. My stepfather (unfortunately deceased) was a huge Reba fan and would always make me take him fishing over there whenever he was in town, hoping to get a look at the famous redhead. She used to have a huge SeaRay docked there. I think it was named after the farm or one of her hit songs, I don't remember.
