Default Engine Builder in Central California

I have a 1998 28 Heat with a 502 mag MPI. I would like to refresh the top end and maybe try to increase the hp to 550, but i don't know of any builders in the area that will

1. build what they say they will build,(Jim Lange, Wish you were still around!)

and hardest to find yet

2. Deliver it in the time frame they say they will deliver it in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(for that matter, i have lived in LA, South Carolina, and now central California and this seems to be the biggest problem)

can anyone help????

Theres a guy on another site, (performance Boats) that I have talked to an has very high recommendations. His name is Scott Foxwell. Foxwell motor sports, he is in Nipomo. If he cant do the work he knows who can.

I found them to be in line with the quality of product they provide.

I was once told "Sometimes going cheaper intially is more expensive in the long run".......

All kidding aside, if you want a gently used 625 Ilmor, there are a few out there complete with headers for $13k ish... Not sure if that is in line with your current build budget either.
