Had mine re-powdercoated. The White on the orig. flaked off. Brought it to a powercoat place and he redid it for me. It came out OK.

My gas caps are the only thing still holding up, the silly cleats have not however. PCing will do just fine, make sure they are stripped and smooth. I am pretty sure they have a PC Clear now to get that little extra.

I contacted Nordic because I wanted polished gas caps as well as the grab handle under the glove box door in stainless steel, Mike told me the handle is SS and just to dip it in acetone and polish it and the same could be done to the caps. Haven't tried it yet..too cold here but IMO I think that would look pretty good.

Not sure why someone would paint stainless, but ok The only reason I like the white caps is because it does not break up that line on my boat. I have no graphics up there, so it has a nice smooth line throughout. The SS rail on the bow has its own line to it, so it doesnt bother me much. I think I will be stripping the handle in the cockpit though. Thanks for the tip!

okay, let me clear up some confusion here. i don't have the large gas caps on my heat (early 2000 build) mine are flush. i'd like the white ones that cover the mounting surface and screws

here's a couple pics of mine

off hand I do not know, but I have seen it advertised in an OLD photo as a 2001, with a 496.
