I dealt with NJ engine builders in the past. It seams that you will find fault in all of them if you do some searching on OSO. In my personal opinion I wouldn’t use any of them. I found a guy up in Albany NY that works privately for the performance boaters in the Lake George area. He is well known by the LGPBA. Anyone that has used him will stand behind him. His name is Frank D’Amico, D’Amico Racing Engines. 518-209-3989. He always returns his calls. You can also ask about him in the LGPBA forum.

Frank built me an 825 hp 540 with an 8:71. This motor is incredible. Unfortunately 4 weeks ago I had a loose wire on the fuel pump that I installed, subsequently It leaned the motor out and broke a valve. This had nothing to do with Frank. The motor is currently being rebuilt by him.

Two years ago i decided I wanted to have Whipple superchargers installed on my boat. I didn't know who to use or trust. I did'nt want to use the Marina that I was going to for normal repairs although they were willing to do the work. So I called Wipple direct and asked them where they would go.Pro roc Brick N.J. so thats where I went and have always been happy. They explain what you need and why you need it. What ever they have done for me I always have felt that I got my money's worth. My engines start easy, are strong and run great.

Smile Hi-performance Marine Specialists

There is great guy in Delran, New Jersey (off the Delaware River). The guy's name is Lou and he is owner and operator of A-Z Marine Performance. He rebuilt a 454Mag MPI last year and added IMCO powerflow last year; this guy is a perfectionist and stands by his work. If interested his number is (856)824-1850.
