We just missed the shoal....thought we missed the rocks too, but...

Could have been alot worse. Navigated by GPS only.

Had about 1/8 mile visibility and Mike had to follow me as he was without GPS.

Steve that can be welded.

Been there done that. Could have been worse bro.

When leaving new harbour in Pea Soup
Enter these waypoints in GPS
Go to 41* 12.1 - 71*35.7 R2 BELL
Go to 41* 15.5 - 71*34.6 G1BI
Go to 41* 18.5 - 71* 28.4 R2

Manually program these on shore then just "go To"
when your in the "Soup".
I have been so White knuckled leaving there.
I never go above plane speed in that Sh@t.

Thanks Gerry. I had the chart with me.

Just never navigated with GPS alone. I had it zoomed out way too much looking at the trail I took out and I was afraid to take my eye off what I could see in front of me for fear of hitting something. We came damn close to a cabin cruiser near the shoal.

After that I zoomed back in and held course to the markers back to Newport.

You can weld aluminum?

I did the exact same thing comming back one year.
Set the Zoom to far out.

Welding aluminum is no problem.

Complete replacement skegs are available
Pete Nopper should be able to get them.

I have done them. I submerge the lower to keep it cool
while welding.

Any compatent welder can repair that skeg.
The looks of it, Just ad a small piece to the bottom.
