Don would be proud!
Greetings boaters....
Today was supposed to see the return of the "race around Long Island"...the sound was eerily quiet. However, a lone 26' Sutphen was seen plying the waters...just a boy and his boat....snotty water, fronts moving in, seas 2-4 feet....23 miles over to LI, 25 miles back to CT....didn't go around the beast, but neither did the 39 Hustler Rockit that was on the slings in Mattituck....with such a lack of activity (don't blame AC or the Pavillion run)...I think I win. If you travelled over 45 miles in or around LIS today...do tell....if not, I want Billy's trophy!

OK
It looks like a Sonic made the lap.
I think it beat the entire fleet of 2 other boats...both Outerlimits...so, the sonic wins?
I'm still in second. I think I covered more water than both Outerlimits, combined...

Ok so whats the real story here?
How many boats ran, was it only 3 freakin boats?
I know C ran all the way over, set up shop and did not see much if any action at all.
did anyone else see any?
was the thing cancelled?
We were at the pavillion poker run.

I think just 3. I think the possible conditions on the ocean side scared a few people that were going to run off. My hats off to Sonic30SS for being a true performance boater and entering, completing and winning the race!

Thats cool that a few people showed up at least.
sounded like C was hung out to dry at first.
But if some guys ran there needed to be some people there for safety.
Too bad it wasnt a bigger turn out.
It was fairly rough even on the pavillion run over to montauk. I lost the freakin push pin in my bimini top and the thing was flailing around so bad I had to stop and make some maguyver reparis.LOL
