I have to say running around the statue of liberty and circling the city via the East River was the greast boating experience I have ever had. Hassel, yes....but it was worth the tow and launching the boat any day of the week.

Default No Sponsors...NO NYC...

No Sponsors...No NYC.....low attendance in recent years...too costly....it all adds up to no NEW YORK CITY POWERBOAT POKER RUN for 2011.
Lets make a statement of support with a large showing...July 23rd in Old Saybrook, CT...or if you are a REAL Offshore enthusiast how about 1 lap around Long Island, "Don Aronow Memorial 271 Mile Marthon", Sept 24th.

Billy,

I really enjoyed attending the NYC poker run 11 years in a row! We've enjoyed some great poker runs from mild to wild with your organization over the years.

I don't live in NJ anymore so I'm going to miss our annual NYC poker run adventure.

Thanks for the support and good times over the years!

Frank

no offense but the npba poker runs are too expensive for what they are. last years old saybrook run didnt even include food and still costed over $400. for that money ill run alone and treat myself to ruth chris or mortons steak house afterwards.

usually a $400-$500 poker run will include: t shirts, dock space, DVD, lunch, dinner, awards, and sometimes accomodations.

I'm sorry I have to agree, and the whole safety dis-qualification stuff was a sham, considering, even in this years poster. There are clearly people running with no jackets etc. It's in the damn poster for 2011. I did have a good time, but I thought the pricing was out there. The run was also too short....a run to block island would've been more fun...stop there for lunch and come back...not many ran together. I waited for a few people and slowed down so we could have a-little pack going...other wise it was just well for lack of a better term, kinda boring...

It is true, what are we really paying for, it's 400-500$ to do the same thing and go to the same places I go every week...they should include something else with the fee or at least go charity. I had to buy the DVDs and everything else which were more $ even on top of this. What am I really getting out of spending this, plus the cost of fuel, lunch....I'd rather just call a few people and run together for free, it'll cost a heck of allot less. I'll still do this years run, but they need to step it up because the pricing is well...in this economy...a-little bit much..

Yep, I've been to a few that do the same thing, and they also include charts and headings printed for you...we get...well...nothing....except amnesty from the police for the day..

I only say headings and charts considering, people couldn't find the damn boats for at-least 2 card stops!
