They have become road tax collectors lately, unfortunately they are just following orders...and yes I have been pulled over numerous times every time they have started with the d1ck attitude, but I'm honest with them and it changes instantly "do you know why I'm pulling you over?" (me) "yes I was in a hurry" the attitude goes away immediately. As one trooper said to me "you just saved your self $300 most of these assh@les would have lied to me"
The real d1ck was the DMV cop who pulled me over for a left lane violation in my combo plated pickup. Swagger up to truck "driver you know why I'm pulling you over?" "no" (honest answer)
"you were in the left lane" "yes officer but I have combo plates"
"ba ba ba license and registration"
Came back with a ticket for 72 mph because he could not get me for left lane tix.....claimed they got me on radar from a rest area up the road... Now that is a d1ck, got that one nollied

So true usually if you show them some respect for the badge and cop to what you were doing they are cool.

If I am wrong I always say yes sir, I know was traveling too fast but I was changing lanes and I speed up to make sure on one is in my blind spot etc

I have no problem admitting I am wrong when I actually am wrong. They know no ones perfect so they will usually give you a break if your cool about it.

Or If I was traveling down hill or if I was just plain late to a meeting. Tell them the truth and they will likely be cool. Try and Bullsh t them and they will send you home $300 short!

Sadly I don't think the using tickets as a source of revenue is isolated to CT... I believe much of the country is doing the same since the budgets have been tightened.

As much as I absolutely hate it (and have certainly contributed to more than my fair share of 'extra taxation'), at the end of the day, there's not a damn thing you can do about it. At best you can drive like an old lady and hope to not get 'chosen' to donate... other than that, you pretty much just have to bend over and take one for Uncle Sam.

I'm sorry, but I agree with Jayfan, I've never met a polite or nice cop in my life. CT Police are the most rude and entitled police I've ever met...they're a *ucking joke...

I'm usually polite, but they give you such attitude, and yes they have turned into tax collectors, however, it's not my problem they're told what to do, it's my problem they are issuing tickets to make up for revenue. Don't shoot the messenger, well I hate to say it, I've never met a cop I liked, EVER....I think they're dirtbags...sorry to say...

The ticket issuers, not serious innercity or higher police that have more important things to do than give people tickets on the highway or bother them...

Always hated them, always will...

You could lay off every state worker for a year, every one and we wouldn't even get into 1/3rd of the debt.....unbelievable , they're just going to make more laws, so they can add to the ridiculous fines to make up for state revenue, while ruining the morale of the residents here. There are too many laws, which are just moronic in this state. They don't help anyone, they just piss everyone off. Next time you're driving to work, think about how many laws you break just driving, that to me, is a bit ridiculous...

I've said my peace, and I feel this thread is going to end up out of control, just wanted to voice my opinion on how angry this whole situation makes me. Weicker at least did something smart and taxed the slots...start taxing the indians, oh wait, we just let them build the casinos and clog our roadways up...because that's fair...they give nothing back except slot revenue...

A wonderful downward spiral we have entered in this state..

They don't give any real breaks to anyone except taxing us to death....they're suffocating the workforce...

And...last but not least...I love the new registration sticker law, not you don't have to post you're registered. Now it's an easy reason to get pulled over for nothing...it's their new probable cause..

...and honesty and politeness has never gotten me anywhere...that honesty crap is total horse ****...they don't really care...they just dish em out...

"I'm late to a meeting"

"well if you got into an accident you wouldn't be there at all, slow down, here's 275$ pay it by the 15th"

"go **** yourself..."

The cop in NY that gave me the ticket almost seemed apologetic...kind of like, "yeah, I know I am being a d*ck for writting you this ticket, but I have to..." He basically told me to fight it and get it reduced (w/out actually saying that word for word). I have no issue with the way he approached me (I was too was very polite, even though I felt singled out), but I have also seen it the other way around too where they were complete d*cks for no reason.

I know ONE state cop and ONE town cop that are nice people.....no attitude, no crap.....but that's IT! And I hate to say it....but those two people are over 6' tall, and were/are good athletes! I stand by the fact that most of them are "little dudes" that got picked on in school, and this is their way of retaliation.
