Hey Jeff I could run 30 mph but I can tell you this, When you and I pull into a Marina they only reason to look past my boat is the fact the screwed down clear Kite on your deck would have them in aww. But i guess in your twisted world you would see that as a complement.

Yeah, Sunday could potentially be very wet and windy. We'll have to watch the forecast as we get closer to the weekend. Worse case we can always run over for just the day... but lets cross that bridge when we get to it.

Okay, it looks like mother nature is stacking the deck against us! The forecast for Sat. is cloudy with a chance of showers. Sunday looks to be heavy rain. Marine forecast for BI on Sat. is calling for 5 to 8 foot seas. Sunday will no doubt be worse as the storm gets closer.
If the forecast holds true, I guess we have a couple of different options...
1) Just do a day trip for Sat and head back Sat evening. Could be a fun and exciting ride, but I fear should someone have mechanical issues, this could get real ugly... The weather sounds crappy either way and seas will only continue to get worse throughout the day.
2) Push this trip back to the following (holiday) weekend and roll the dice again. Keep in mind, there will be a lot of people there for the hoiday... As Frank mentioned to me, we would have to get there early and/or make reservations. This would also kill the plans for a trip to Montauk for that same weekend.
3) Scrap the trip all together, which I'm not in favor of doing!
We can obviously continue to monitor the weather and see how it pans out, but I think we should make a decision early since some folks have to make plans for child care and/or for work...
