Default Any ideas of books to read on building engines?

Title says it all. I'm 14 but would like to learn more about building marine race engines. Someone suggested Hot Rod magazine...any ideas of books on Amazon or somewhere? Thanks

Honestly, buy the hp500 original carbed manual...read it, if you understand it, youll get the basic principals...

This is something that must be done to appreciate it. Do you understand basic mechanics?

There's no real manual for marine race engines. It's more trial and trade secrets and what people have developed as good combinations.

http://www.amazon.com/Engine-Builder...3646807&sr=1-1

http://www.amazon.com/Racing-Engine-...3646807&sr=1-3

Both great...

I understand the basic mechanics and what not but I'd like to have a more detailed understanding of how blowers work and how to physically build an engine. But thanks for the links, I'll check them out.

here is a couple i have since i was young. Explain alot about the motors. so when you look a a mercry manual you will understand every spec in their book. These dont get into big cube motors or blowers But will be basic knowlege of the base engine. They tell all about clearences for everything with a easy understanding
