Blarney Island race day pics
These are a few pics of a friend of our's boats that race at the Blarney Island drag races.
This one is a "lake racer" class, which has a bunch of rules to go by. In example: No aluminum heads, no carbs bigger than a 4150 style, and only one, full interior, no roller cam, no nitrous, no light layup style hulls such as "Texas tunnels" etc. More rules than NHRA super stock. Oh, and they limit engine size to 470 cu. in. too.

Re: Blarney Island race day pics
Same guy, John owns this boat too. This is the one that he wanted me to drive for him this year. It runs a pro stock class. No cubic inch limit as long as you run a conventional style cylinder head, one carb any size, no nitrous. It currently has a 598 cu. in. engine in it, with Brodix aluminum heads. For next year, there's a 632 dry sumped engine waiting with Pro Filer cylinder heads that waiting to go in.

Re: Blarney Island race day pics
Another friend of mine that I used to race with back in 1982, 83, & 84. He's still racing jet boats. This one runs an "unlimited" class. Unlimited cu. in. any type of cylinder heads, multiple carburation, with nitrous, or supercharged. Any type of lightweight hull.
This hull weighs 300 Lbs. The engine is a 653 cu. in. with Pontiac "big cheif" 12 deg. cylinder heads. Dual 1350 cfm dominators with around a 500 hp shot of nitrous on top of it all for excitement.
We're going back up there again this thursday, and I'll try to take some video of the boats running.

Re: Blarney Island race day pics
These are a couple of our friends that were with us on our boat at the air show. They live on Fox lake, and invited us up there to go to the races with them.
The one girls father was there too, and he remembered me from when I used to race there back in the mid 80's
