I have been on the noise bandwagon for a few years I always run my mufflers on the river and stay under 60 mph if crowded I slow it way down.
Would you rather be fast or loud If it wasnt for noise speed would prob not be a issue

I hope the turn out will be more than the last meeting. I do know 4 more people going. Maybe we should tell them to get a bigger room. They did ask us right ??

I lived in Rockford, Illinois on the Rock River and had to listen to the Home Owners Association "no more loud boat geeks" for many years. Organize as many boaters to attend the meeting as possible. I did this in Rockford and it helped for awhile. Even boating on Lake Michigan became a hassle. Lake Michigan cop even told me next time I got pulled over with loud exhaust it would be a Felony. Moved my business to Florida...no problems here with water cops. Lots of great memories running Drag-boat/partying Thursday night at Blarney Island on Chain of Lakes. I remember once in Rockford having a 92 in a 45 speeding ticket along with loud exhaust. I argued that the Rock River was a Navigatible waterway and was under USCG jurisdiction and that jurisdiction could not be over ruled by local County ordinances. During this discussion in the hallway prior to seeing the Judge the County attorney told me I was wrong. The river runs through Winnebago County and the County could implement any limit they wanted. I then suggested they try reducing the speed limit to 45 mph on I-90 which runs through the County and maybe even try throwing up the County's own toll booth on that Interstate Highway if the County had those rights. I was then offered a reduced ticket that had nothing to do with the Rock River. Drivng a unsafe vehicle and this ticket had the lowest fine of all citations. No points on my license. I believe the fine was $25.00 and other tickets were thrown out. The County protected their Ordinance but I believe I made a point that day.
