Re: So they think OSS fines and penalties are tough?
Bruce...its not just a slap on the rist when they get caught...I speak from first knowledge on Harvicks team...first crew chiefs don't make a crap load of money and in the BUSH Series they get a lot less then the NEXTEL guys...
They also have to answer to sponsors....
There is more fall out then you think when you get caught...
I think its great that they take such drastic actions towards teams that get caught....
Offshore should do the same....if you get caught....suspend a team for 3 or 4 races...I know thats half the year...but it would make a team think twice about devating from the rules...

Talk about cut your nose off to spite your face.
Arent boat counts low enough? hit them in the wallet although in the long run it could cause the same effect.

Re: So they think OSS fines and penalties are tough?
Pete....
Your not cutting off your nose....in the business world you don't manage your employee's out of fear....fear that you may loose a few that would not follow company policy...these are people you don't want within your organization to begin with...there is nothing positve that will come out of racing by keeping teams that cheat with in a Organization...and by setting a stern policy you will deter other from doing so....
A good example...all the sport scandles with all the steriods problem....do nothing about it or just a $ amount fine and the guys that can pay the fines will continue to gamble while others loose...have them sit out of the sport for a period of time...and they will cry like a little baby....
I once seen Randy post on OSO...its only cheating till you get cought...and I'm sure there are teams out there that think like that...so your right...we already have a low boat count....why keep a few teams that might want to cheat around to posion the sport.....there is a old saying....if you find cancer in your Organization...go in and cut it out before it spreads....
If your at the Orange Beach race stop by and say hi...

Sorry, this is probably my fault! I am trying to bring my bro up (or down) to speed. The other half of the crash test dummies may be rubbing off on poor on poor Brucie.

More like cream of wheat, just a little butter and salt. You could try some ice cream.

Illegal drugs or Illegal ECM both cheating but comparing apples to oranges in my opinion.
