The 400 lbs sure did not help.

Did they add the weight in fuel?

Was the tunnel flap on the boat?

Did it try to roll or sit on the transom (tail spin)?

A Drive broke, forcing the rear to squat and launch the boat into a pirouette of sorts, spinning, and then reverse stuffed (at a speed of approx a buck 20 and change) which broke the other drive.

I Want To Clear Everyone Up On The Incident With Motley Crew In St. Claire. I Know There Is Many Opinions Flying Around And Most Are Wrong. No Opinion Is More Valid Than The Two Drivers That Went Thru It (not Even The Medical Guys That Watched From The Chopper And Were The Only Ones To View It). The 400 Lbs. Is The Reason We Hooked And Not A Broken Drive. The Addl Weight (9200 Lbs Total) Planted The Front Sponson And Spun The Boat Violently. We Have Controlled Slid This Boat Over 1200 Turns To Date With No Problem And 3 Turns Into Practice With 400 Lbs For The First Time........whats The Odds?? It Took The Handling Out Of The Boat And Its Not The Same By Any Means. We Could Have Repaired The Boat And Raced On Sunday But Were At Odds With The Politics (which I Will Not Post) And The "class" In General So We Decided To Pack It Up And Roll. If Anyone Had A Better View Of The Incident Than Us, I Would Like To Hear Their Take
