Thank-you Blue Water And OPA

I would like to thank the City of St Clair,Blue Water racing,Opa for hosting OSS at your event, and what a great one it was!!The town was packed all day and nite the bands were great. Thanks for being such a great host.A big thank you to both Ed Smiths for all they do for off shore racing and for Sharkey for all the photos he puts on the web.It was great to see all the boats on the race course again. Thanks to all the volunteers for hanging in there in the extreme heat. The fans in St Clair are second to none, even after the storm town was still packed, that says alot!!

Re: Thank-you Blue Water And OPA

Eagles would like to second that and add thanks specifically for the folks managing the traffic flow to the cranes at 9th and Clinton on Sunday afternoon. They (he) hung in there through the storm and recovery of Loan Shark completely unruffled...amazing! Someone who knows him please thank him.

Monica the crane goddess...thank you, thank you, thank you!

Also cudos to the ramp manager. Unflappable but very much in charge. He was gracious but stern and kept the ramp moving despite the ....well never mind. Some times we are our own worst enemy.

Our experience was the same, all volunteers were excellent! Never a discouraging word and always helpful and cheerful.

What a great race site. We'll be back...

Allen

Thumbs up Re: Thank-you Blue Water And OPA

That race site seemed like it ran like a nice oiled machine!

Incredible attendance by the racers and the fans!

This was my 1st time there, and let me tell you, as soon as I pulled into town, I can just spot all of the planning that went into this event! From the security, to the traffic control and all of the vendors. It was awesome! I felt safe and secure with knowing security was checking bags at the gates as well.

The medical and safety teams were all ready to go at a moments notice.

I only wish I could have spent a week there. I didn't have a chance to see as many people as I would have like to.
I look forward to next year!
As far as I am concerned, this is the #1 venue on the circuit right now... That is if you really want to be surrounded by people that actually came for the races....
The people were die hard fans. Rain, Wind & Lightning, they all weathered the storm and came right back for the last race!

Thank you to all of you that put such an effort into this event!
It certainly made it worth my trip!

Anytime 46tomcat! Thanks!

Sharkey you took the words right out of my mouth. I will be back again next year and hopefully then maybe we can shoot for 90 boats!

Re: Thank-you Blue Water And OPA

This was our Second time in St Clair and just as much, if not more enjoyable than the last year. The red carpet was certainly out for us.

As stated above, co ordination and traffic control went pretty smooth, even with only one crane.

thank you
