Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now: Orange Beach ready for OSS
The Gulf Coast Powerboat Association and OSS are going all out for this year’s Thunder On The Gulf race, August 17th – 20th. The Dry Pits and some of the Wet Pits are at The Wharf, a 400 million project on the inter-coastal waterway. The Wharf also has an eleven thousand seat amphitheater. It will be host to the "All American Jam " concert on Saturday night. The performers include The Marshall Tucker Band, Starship with Mickey Thomas, The Atlanta Rhythm Section, and the Georgia Satellites. Starships’s Oscar-nominated hit song “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” may very well be the official anthem of Thunder on the Gulf, with “Running Like The Wind” by MTB a close second. Between 30 and 40 canopied OSS boats, representing the best and most sophisticated racing machines in offshore, are expected. And for anyone thinking of messing with the race, The Georgia Satellites have a special message. Y’all come back now, y’hea?
