A member of our racing family needs our urgent help
Many racers remember Jimmy McIntyre. Jimmy used to throttle for Carl Myers in the “How Sweet It Is” boat, as well as for Billy Mauff when Billy used to race the “Hot & Nasty” boat. Jimmy owns Falcon Marine in Long Island, New York, a company that always looked bigger than it was in real life.
We just heard that Jimmy’s family has been hit by a terrible tragedy. Jimmy's daughter Brielle, just 28 months old, is terminally ill. She has been diagnosed with "Cox Deficiency." This is characterized by the progressive degeneration of the brain and dysfunction of other organs such as the heart and kidneys. Brielle has spent most of her 28 months traveling from specialists to specialist, just to find a heart wrenching diagnosis for her rare illness. There is no cure for Brielle.
Her family, Jimmy, Angela, Gage and Carlin wish for her to spend her remaining time with her family and friends, not in a hospital. However, the care she requires is enormous. It requires constant monitoring and round the clock nursing care. Unfortunately, the insurance will not cover the care Brielle needs, and the costs are far beyond the financial wherewithal of the McIntyre family. Jimmy is self-employed with a terminally sick child taking his time away from earning a living.
Charity begins at home. Last year, OSS racers helped Biloxi with the devastation of hurricane Katrina. This time, OSS will help one of their own.
Jimmy and Brielle are part of our racing family. OSS has set up a fund "To Help Bring Brielle Home" before it is too late. June Connolly has volunteered her services and has set up an escrow account. Every penny going into that account goes straight to Brielle, and it will help to make her path to heaven as smooth as possible.
Please make your generous checks out to:

Goldson, Nolan, Connolly, P.C.

Donations can also be made at registration in Destin.
Also, there is a fund raiser on Saturday, November 5, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Casey's, Montauk Highway, Westhampton Beach, New York.
It is the firm goal of OSS to present one large check to Brielle. It’s the least we can do for a family member hit by a terrible tragedy.
Please help to make it happen.
